VOTE VOTE VOTE!!!

You're all so great that you've helped my latest comic venture, Mr. MAN, stay in the Small Press Idol contest through round 3! THX!! There's only a very short window to vote during round 3 to send Mr. MAN into round 4 and a publication deal. I'd LOVE to see that happen, but it's all going to depend on YOU!!

I love your Batman artwork and original style.

I hope you don't mind me asking what influenced your style?

Oh, I don't mind you asking. One of the most common questions asked of nearly any artist really. Short answer:

I'm self taught, never went to school to do what I do. I studied the art of other people that I liked (cartoons I watched, comics I read, etc) and learned how to draw by imitating that art. Over time those many other artists led me to "squash & stretch" their styles into something more my own. This also gave me the ability to mimic nearly any other style I see turning me into something like an artistic chameleon.

If you're looking for names they'd be:

Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, Jack Kirby, Bruce Timm, Paul Dini, Bill Waterson, Berkley Breathed, Chris Giarrusso, Phil Yeh, many many many other wonderfully talented famous artists as well as an insurmountable mass of my artistic friends (famous and struggling) to vast to list here. If you'd like a detailed list ask. When I have time I'll send it to ya. ;)

I'm sorta learning like that. The problem I have most trouble with though is choosing which style to start with.

I'm familiar with some of the artists you've mentioned.

And as a matter of fact I would like a list of artists you'd recomend. :D

Thanks for replying, I hope we become good friends fellow artist! :highfive:
